Ronnie Fieg and Kith have once again joined forces with BMW, unveiling a meticulously restored 1981 BMW M1 E26. This collaboration marks the third chapter in their ongoing partnership, seamlessly blending BMW’s rich automotive heritage with Kith’s contemporary design ethos.
The M1, BMW’s inaugural M-series model, has been reimagined with a year-long restoration using original components from BMW’s archives. Its exterior boasts the rare Techno Violet paint, a hue cherished by BMW aficionados, complemented by a custom Kith M-Series badge on the rear decklid.
Inside, the cabin is adorned with BMW Individual Black Merino Leather, featuring Kith’s signature monogram pattern across the seats, headrests, gear shift, door inserts, and floor mats, infusing a modern touch into the classic sports car.
Under the hood, the M1 retains its original 3.5L inline-six engine, delivering 277 hp and a top speed of approximately 165 mph—a testament to its status as one of the fastest German sports cars of its era.
This one-of-a-kind vehicle is set to debut on December 6, 2024, at the Kith for BMW Showcase at the 1111 Lincoln Road parking garage in Miami, Florida. The event will also feature Fieg’s personal collection of custom BMWs, likely accompanied by an exclusive capsule collection.
This collaboration follows previous successful ventures between Kith and BMW, including the limited-edition M4 Competition x Kith and the i4 M50 by Kith, both of which seamlessly merged automotive excellence with streetwear culture.
