WILDSIDE Yohji Yamamoto and NEEDLES have joined forces once again, bringing their distinctive aesthetics to a fresh lineup that channels a laid-back Western mood. This new release reworks NEEDLES’ signature Cowboy jacket and pants, pushing the design into Yohji’s realm of understated drama.
The jacket arrives in inky black, anchored by sharp piping and snap closures. A red butterfly, a NEEDLES hallmark, sits on the chest, while roses and butterflies blossom across the back, lending a hint of subversive elegance. Black leather trims punctuate the waist pockets, confirming that careful detail is still the name of the game.
A matching pair of pants echoes the Western shape with flared legs and piping along the sides. NEEDLES’ usual logo space has been switched up with the same butterfly-and-rose motif, tapping into the duo’s rebellious streak. Made from sturdy polyester with a drawstring waist, the set retains the easy comfort NEEDLES fans expect.
This capsule continues a growing series of collaborations between the two brands. Early 2024 saw them drop a track suit and blazer, also threaded with the red rose and butterfly design. Both labels have built solid followings: NEEDLES, founded by Keizo Shimizu under NEPENTHES, is renowned for its cult track suits, while WILDSIDE Yohji Yamamoto—launched in 2022—ventures into experimental partnerships that expand the universe of the iconic Japanese designer.
The latest collection lands on January 22 in WILDSIDE’s online store, plus physical outposts in Osaka, Harajuku, and Hankyu Men’s Tokyo Yohji Yamamoto. All signs point to another sought-after release that walks the line between classic and now.
