The British designer’s Togetherness series hit New York with a vibrant museum party, uniting designers, rappers, and curators in sound.

Grace Wales Bonner transformed the Guggenheim Museum into a vibrant nexus of music, fashion, and cultural expression with the second installment of her “Togetherness” series on May 3, 2025. Building upon its Paris debut, this New York edition featured performances from global artists such as The Cavemen, Amaarae, Fireboy DML, Etran de L’Air, The Joy, keiyaA, Navy Blue, Ade “Acyde” Odunlami, and DJ Akanbi. The event coincided with Rashid Johnson’s exhibition “A Poem for Deep Thinkers,” enhancing the evening’s multidisciplinary ambiance.

Wales Bonner’s vision for “Togetherness” emphasizes the fusion of diverse artistic disciplines. By curating performances that span genres and cultures, she creates immersive experiences that transcend traditional fashion presentations. Attendees, including Leon Bridges, Henry Golding, Stefon Diggs, Paloma Elsesser, Bethann Hardison, and Dapper Dan, witnessed a celebration of global artistry within the museum’s iconic architecture.

The event also highlighted Wales Bonner’s collaboration with Android as well as an immersive installation by Lagavulin Single Malt Scotch Whisky, titled “Layers of Lagavulin,” which complemented the evening’s theme by tracing the whisky-making process and spotlighting craftsmanship.
“Togetherness” at the Guggenheim exemplified Wales Bonner’s dedication to creating spaces where art, music, and fashion converge. Where else could one wander a world-class art exhibit, then dance to an Afrofuturist jam session under an iconic museum rotunda?
