Miu Miu Women’s Tales #29 Premieres with Joanna Hogg in London

On February 13, Miu Miu brought its Women’s Tales series back to London, premiering Autobiografia di una Borsetta, the latest film directed by British filmmaker Joanna Hogg. The short film—Hogg’s take on the intimate relationship between women and their handbags—was shown at Curzon Mayfair Cinema, where the space was reimagined as a private salon, welcoming a cinephile crowd to celebrate the art of storytelling through fashion and film.

After the screening, Hogg sat down with Penny Martin for a conversation that explored the film’s inspirations, the interplay between narrative and wardrobe, and the way clothing functions not just as costume, but as an extension of the filmmaker’s own identity. It was a fitting discussion for the Women’s Tales series, which has long positioned female filmmakers at the forefront of cultural conversations.

The night continued at Langan’s Brasserie, where cinema and style converged over cocktails. The guest list read like a who’s who of London’s creative scene, with Alexa Chung, Emma Corrin, Little Simz, Arlo Parks, Mackenzie Davis, Isabel Sandoval, Ellie Bamber, Alisha Boe, Jessica Henwick, and Pixie Geldof among those in attendance. As conversations flowed, so did the celebration of women’s voices in film—a cause Miu Miu has championed with each new chapter of Women’s Tales.
