At Milan Fashion Week, Montblanc brought the art of exploration to life with “The Journey,” a thoughtfully curated presentation of its Fall/Winter 2025 collections. Hosted at Salone dei Tessuti, the breakfast preview gathered media, influencers, and VIPs—including Lucky Blue Smith, Alex Pettyfer, Henry Golding, Bianca Brandolini, and Alice Pagani—for a deep dive into the Maison’s enduring relationship with travel and writing.
Anchoring the experience was “The Tree of Writing,” an arresting art installation by Edinas Paper, a frequent Montblanc collaborator. Composed entirely of paper, its branches were adorned with leaves fashioned from book pages, each printed with an inspirational quote chosen by Artistic Director Marco Tomasetta. Towering over the showroom, the tree offered a visual metaphor for the timeless connections writing creates across generations and cultures.
The theme continued with a striking bronze sculpture, the result of a collaboration between Tomasetta and acclaimed Italian sculptor Andrea Roggi. Known for his “Tree of Life” series, Roggi reimagined the olive leaves as book pages, seamlessly blending nature and the written word in a tribute to knowledge and self-expression.
“From the beginning, Montblanc has created pieces that accompany people on their journeys—whether crossing physical borders or navigating personal ones. At Milan Fashion Week, a place where creativity knows no bounds, it felt right to reflect on how travel and writing intersect,” Tomasetta said, offering insight into the Maison’s philosophy.
Guests were invited to take part in Montblanc’s tradition with a hands-on experience at the Montblanc Desk, a debut piece of furniture design conceived by Tomasetta. The desk, both practical and elegant, invited attendees to pause and write, emphasizing Montblanc’s deep connection to the written word.
Travel’s influence on the Maison was further reflected in the event’s design. A corridor inspired by the golden age of train travel welcomed visitors, echoing Montblanc’s heritage of crafting reliable writing tools for long journeys. In the main showroom, guests explored the new Fall/Winter 2025 collection—designs meant to accompany moments of personal discovery.
The highlight of the collection was the Writing Traveller, a refined handbag designed to hold writing essentials like notebooks and pens. It epitomized Montblanc’s craftsmanship while reinforcing its heritage of blending functionality with elegance. Other pieces included compact leather designs, from multifunctional wearable wallets to small bowling bags, balancing practicality with a contemporary edge. The collection’s finishes ranged from ostrich-print leather to archival jacquard patterns, set against an earthy color palette inspired by Mont Blanc’s natural landscape.
Montblanc’s Milan Fashion Week presence wasn’t just a showcase of new designs; it was a reflection on the transformative power of writing and travel, both of which have shaped the Maison’s identity for over a century. By intertwining tradition and innovation, Montblanc invited its audience to rediscover the joy of a journey, whether across continents or on the blank page.
