Beirut announces a six-date North American concert schedule in April 2027 across five cities, marking multi-instrumentalist Zach Condon’s first stage appearances on the continent since 2019. The tour snaps an eight-year performance hiatus in the United States and Canada, confining the transatlantic itinerary to a tight grouping of mid-sized rooms.
Setlists draw from 2025's A Study of Losses, an 18-track studio release issued on Pompeii Records and commissioned by director Viktoria Dalborg for Swedish circus company Kompani Giraff. First staged at Prague's Jatka78 venue in September 2024, the score took shape around German author Judith Schalansky’s novel Verzeichnis einiger Verluste. Condon constructed the pieces in Berlin working with cellist Clarice Jensen, bassist Griffin Rodriguez, drummer Nick Petree, and violinist Ben Russell, pivoting from organ-dominated isolation to chamber-pop instrumentation. Live stagings pit brass fanfares and pump organs against resonant baritone vocal lines.
Stage dates begin at Brooklyn Steel on April 2, 2027 and April 3, 2027, giving New York consecutive evenings of performances before the group heads north to Boston’s Roadrunner on April 5, 2027. The itinerary proceeds south to Washington, D.C.’s 9:30 Club on April 6, 2027, shifts west to The Salt Shed in Chicago on April 10, 2027, and concludes across the border at Toronto’s History on April 13, 2027.
