Rick Owens has never been one to check a bag. Now, he’s taken that sentiment and spun it into a new kind of luggage. Unveiled at Owens’s Fall/Winter 2025 show in Paris, this cabin piece turns RIMOWA’s signature aluminum into a bronzed sculpture that’s equal parts functional and collectible.
RIMOWA, part of the LVMH group and long known for lightweight, durable suitcases, collaborated with Owens on a finish that looks like it’s been pulled straight from a sculptor’s studio. Thanks to a special pigment treatment, each bag has a dark bronze patina that references work by Giacometti, Brâncuși, and Serra—no two are the same. Inside, Owens says he wants the interior to evoke the feel of a black leather glove. The bag comes with a hairy cowskin tag produced in Italy, a tactile detail that sets it apart from the usual polished finish.
The RIMOWA x Rick Owens Original Cabin Bronze is limited to 500 numbered pieces, each priced at €2,900. It arrives on January 30 via both brands’ sites. For fans of Owens’s streamlined approach—or anyone who wants a suitcase that’s practically a piece of art—this is a savvy way to travel light.
