Uniqlo UT is tapping Pablo Picasso’s work for the first time, folding the artist’s work into its ongoing “PEACE FOR ALL” initiative—launched in June 2022—which has raised over two million dollars for humanitarian causes so far. This new drop, expected in early March, revolves around five T-shirts spotlighting key pieces from Picasso’s catalog.
Leading the pack is a T-shirt devoted to The Flowers of Peace (1958), a lithograph created for a peace demonstration in Stockholm. The design appears full-size across the tee and channels the project’s charitable heartbeat. All proceeds from this particular shirt will be donated to UNHCR.
Other T-shirts reflect distinct Picasso works, including Portrait de Marie-Thérèse Walter (1937), with the artwork printed across the back and details placed on the front left chest. There’s also the minimalist Dove of Peace (1945) and Femme au chapeau (1935). Each captures a different facet of the artist’s evolving style, now translated for the streets.
Uniqlo’s “PEACE FOR ALL” initiative kicked off in mid-2022 with a handful of collaborators, racking up global interest and funds for organizations like the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The Picasso collection marks a new chapter—where accessible style meets a slice of art history, all for a bigger cause.
