Byredo's "Late Lunch" is a new fragrance you can buy in one place only. Jondal, on Ibiza's southern coast, is the destination it was created for, a spot where lunch starts late and drifts toward dusk.
The fragrance came out of a friendship between the house and Jondal's owner, Rem, and it extends Byredo's signature idea of scent as emotional geography, a place rendered as a scent. Designed to mirror Jondal's easygoing pace, it holds an unhurried mood with enough structure to carry from a bright afternoon into cool evening air.
Master Perfumer Nicolas Bonneville built it to unfold like a slow day by the water, in three stages.
Citrus first, orange blossom with lemon and mandarin, light and weightless, the brand's read on a cold drink under hard sun. The heart goes green and mineral, lentisk and galbanum cut with rosemary salt and pink pepper, standing in for wild herbs on coastal rock. Ambrox, helvetolide and cedarwood close it out, a warmth that holds on the skin after the sun is gone.
There's no broader rollout. "Late Lunch" is sold only at the Byredo x Particular store in Ibiza.
