Le Labo Concrete Home Diffuser brings a little theater to scenting a room. The limited edition pairs SANTAL 26 with an Edison-style bulb that brightens and dims as the fragrance output changes. Set against concrete and glass, the warm filament gives the device a visual presence of its own.
A nebulizer handles the fragrance, breaking the oil into an ultrafine mist without heating or diluting it. The process is designed to preserve the scent’s composition during diffusion. The mechanics give the vintage-style bulb a practical role, linking its brightness to the fragrance being released.
Each concrete base is cast, polished and sealed by hand in the U.S. Small air pockets and variations in color give individual pieces their differences, even before they enter a home. Le Labo has made wooden diffusers before; the new edition uses concrete’s uneven surface to give the familiar format another character.
The finish is also intended to develop a patina over time, making aging part of the design’s appeal. Replacement fragrance oil and light bulbs are sold separately, so the concrete base can remain through successive refills. Its surface is meant to keep changing even as the scent is replenished.
The Concrete Home Diffuser set includes the base, SANTAL 26 Diffuser Oil, a diffuser bulb, a light bulb and a waxed canvas tote bag. The release began in select markets on October 5, with a broader global rollout scheduled to start December 1.
