Seven years into their California partnership, Louis Vuitton and the artist Alex Israel have shrunk the whole state to a hand-built, wood-paneled station wagon carrying six of the house's Cologne Perfumes. The Woody Wagon Colognes set is a 66-piece limited edition built from 219 individually designed and assembled parts, available for pre-order now, with delivery expected in late September 2026.
The Woody Wagon has long embodied a certain Californian freedom: surfboard on the roof, family in the back, and the Pacific just over the next hill. In this case, the family is our six Cologne perfumes.
That 66 is Route 66, the highway that funneled the American heartland to the Southern California coast. The model in question is the woodie, the timber-sided original that postwar surf culture made its own, here rebuilt in the house's materials. Mahogany forms the paneled doors, each engraved with the Monogram, and semi-aged natural beige leather handles the bodywork. Monogram flowers dress the wheels.
Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud composed the six Cologne Perfumes riding inside, a lineup Louis Vuitton frames as "sensory stopovers" up the West Coast. "I'm thrilled to continue exploring my favorite landscape, Los Angeles, on this road trip with Jacques Cavallier Belletrud and Louis Vuitton," Israel said.
A separate release puts three of the six colognes into translucent resin travel cases. Sun Song, California Dream and Afternoon Swim each get a translucent resin travel case, the Monogram layered over a gradient drawn from Californian light. Bright yellow burns into incandescent orange on Sun Song, the warmest hour of the day. On California Dream, translucent pink fades into sky blue, a West Coast sunset in slow motion. Afternoon Swim deepens from azure into ocean blue, the Pacific a few strokes down. The resin stays transparent by design, so the bottle inside joins the color story. Each case is capped at 100 pieces and available now.
