Givenchy’s new campaign marks Sarah Burton’s first collection for the house, with supermodel Kaia Gerber as its face. It is directed by Dutch filmmaker Halina Reijn – fresh off her A24 thriller Babygirl – who brings a cinematic lens to Burton’s vision, shooting both the imagery and accompanying short films.

The imagery unfolds as a dialogue between director and muse, built around the female gaze that defines Burton’s concept for this debut. In one frame, Reijn herself kneels before Gerber – who wears a white babydoll dress and gold heels – as if directing her star on set.

Another shot shows Reijn’s hand in the foreground clutching a script, while Gerber – now in a short red dress and black loafers – meets her gaze with quiet intensity. A third image finds Gerber in a black lace gown cinched with a scarlet belt, lying on the floor with one arm draped over her eyes in dramatic repose.

Burton’s transition from Alexander McQueen to Givenchy is defined by continuity and craft, opting to refine the house’s heritage of precision and elegance rather than disrupt it. She is also the first woman to helm Givenchy since Clare Waight Keller’s tenure in 2020, restoring a female perspective at the house and aligning with LVMH’s broader shift toward female creative leadership.
